This past weekend, I flew to La Grange, Illinois for my high school class reunion. My hometown suburb outside Chicago. Just in time for the Autumn trees, blanketing over so many of our hometown’s picturesque streets -- on just a perfect weekend. So many trees had started to turn – evolving into a banquet of colors.
This was so fun to read...thank you for the pictures and your beautiful thoughts!! You are a treasure!!! The Class of '74's 50th reunion is next year...1,012 in my class (at my last count!)! Reading your experience makes me look forward to it even more! Yes...we were all so blessed to grow up in the LaGrange area!!
Beautiful thoughts and memories, so poetic and true! It was wonderful seeing you and so many others but missed seeing some I wish I knew were there. So glad we all share some great memories and connections. This is Renee on Steve's page.
You totally captured the feelings of the reunion! Happy to reconnect with so many wonderful classmates. Truly an amazing group of people. We are the Lucky Ones. Grateful to Carrie & committee who made it such a Fabulous Weekend.
your metaphor about life and trees and colors and our past… we should all pause more and reflect on those wonderful times. You’re the best Jimmy Dunne!
Love, Love, LOVE this! I so wanted to come, but was held home to help with my 98 year old father in law. Family First! I attended my reunion in early October in Fairfax, VA. But I truly wanted to reunite with my Gurrie Jr. High classmates. I hope they do another when we turn 73! Thank you for the beautiful words and pictures. Hugs!
You have so truly encapsulated our reunion. The great emotion of seeing old friends again, of telling old stories and reminiscing over those golden years. Thank you sharing your emotions of that weekend and of reuniting with old pals. I know it is one that I shall never forget and always be thankful for. We lucky few!!
Jimmy, great story! I pondered coming back to LT for my classes 45th, but couldn’t make the logistics work. Thank you for taking me back via your story and pictures. We were truly blessed to grow up in LaGrange !
